CPR Certification in Maryland
Whether you need CPR certification for your job, to meet school requirements, or for personal preparedness, Maryland has accredited training centers offering American Red Cross, American Heart Association, and ASHI classes. Most classes include hands-on skills practice and take between 2–6 hours to complete. Certifications are typically valid for two years.

CPR & First Aid Requirements in Maryland
Maryland's State Department of Education, Division of Early Childhood, requires at least one childcare teacher or director to hold current CPR and First Aid certificates appropriate to all age groups served. For K-12 schools, at least one adult besides the health services professional must be certified in First Aid and CPR during school hours and at all school-sponsored athletic events. Notably, SIDS training has been mandatory since July 2004 for anyone caring for children under two. Both AHA and Red Cross certifications (or equivalents) are accepted with two-year renewal periods.
