CPR & First Aid Requirements in Georgia
Georgia mandates CPR training for high school graduation under Senate Bill 212 and requires all childcare staff to complete pediatric CPR and First Aid certification within 45 days of employment as of July 2025, a tighter timeline than the previous 90-day window. The requirement extends to public safety officials including police officers, firefighters, and 911 dispatchers, as well as healthcare providers, educators, and fitness instructors. At least one CPR-certified staff member must be present on childcare premises at all times. Both AHA and Red Cross certifications are accepted statewide.
