CPR Certification in Florida
Whether you need CPR certification for your job, to meet school requirements, or for personal preparedness, Florida has accredited training centers offering American Red Cross, American Heart Association, and ASHI classes. Most classes include hands-on skills practice and take between 2–6 hours to complete. Certifications are typically valid for two years.

CPR & First Aid Requirements in Florida
Florida requires CPR and AED training for high school graduation, embedded within the Health or Physical Education curriculum since 2021. The Florida Department of Children and Families mandates that all childcare providers maintain Adult, Child, and Infant CPR, AED, and First Aid certification. Since July 2024, youth sports coaches in public schools must hold current CPR certification. The requirement also extends to elderly care workers, aquatic activity instructors, and healthcare professionals. Both AHA and Red Cross certifications are accepted, with standard two-year renewal periods enforced by the Florida Department of Health.

Florida made CPR/AED training a high school graduation requirement in 2021 as part of the Health or Physical Education curriculum. The Florida Department of Children and Families requires childcare providers to maintain pediatric CPR/AED/First Aid. Youth sports coaches in public schools have been required to hold CPR certification since July 1, 2024. Elderly care employees must also maintain certification.
