CPR Certification in New Jersey
Whether you need CPR certification for your job, to meet school requirements, or for personal preparedness, New Jersey has accredited training centers offering American Red Cross, American Heart Association, and ASHI classes. Most classes include hands-on skills practice and take between 2–6 hours to complete. Certifications are typically valid for two years.

CPR & First Aid Requirements in New Jersey
New Jersey mandates that all athletic coaches under the NJ State Interscholastic Athletic Association hold CPR/First Aid certification obtained specifically through hands-on training, with online-only courses not eligible. Since 2014, public school districts serving grades 9-12 must provide CPR and AED instruction before graduation. While teacher CPR requirements are determined by individual school districts, the health, fitness, and entertainment industries commonly require staff certification. Both AHA and Red Cross certifications are accepted with standard two-year renewal periods.
