CPR & First Aid Requirements in Michigan
Michigan requires all childcare staff working directly with children to obtain infant, child, and adult CPR and First Aid certification within 90 days of hiring, and child care centers must have at least 50% of program staff certified before receiving or renewing their license. Under Public Act 110 of 2023, teachers first employed after August 2023 must complete CPR/First Aid as part of their 15 days of professional development. Online CPR training is accepted only with an in-person skills test. Both AHA and Red Cross certifications are recognized across the state.
