CPR Certification in Massachusetts

CPR & First Aid Requirements in Massachusetts
Massachusetts mandates CPR certification for all childcare workers through the Department of Early Education and Care, and requires all school coaches to hold valid CPR certification per General Laws Chapter 71 Section 47A. Dentists must maintain CPR certification at the basic or advanced support level through AHA, Red Cross, or an equivalent program. The requirement extends to Head Start teachers, babysitters, daycare workers, fitness trainers, swimming instructors, and lifeguards. Both AHA and Red Cross certifications are accepted, with approval from the Department of Public Health required for coaching certifications.
