Turning on two-step sign-in for your portal account
Add an extra layer of security to your portal login with an authenticator app and recovery codes.
Two-step sign-in (also called 2FA or MFA) means after you type your password, you also type a 6-digit code from an app on your phone. It keeps your account safe even if someone learns your password.
What you need first
- A smartphone with an authenticator app installed (Google Authenticator, 1Password, Authy, or Microsoft Authenticator all work)
- A safe place to keep 10 recovery codes — a password manager, or a printed sheet you put somewhere only you can find
How to turn on two-step sign-in
- 1Sign in at https://app.docpr.com/portal.
- 2Open Account → Security.
- 3Tap Enable two-step sign-in.
- 4Open your authenticator app and scan the QR code on the page.
- 5The app shows a 6-digit code that changes every 30 seconds. Type the current code into the page to confirm.
- 6The page will then show 10 recovery codes — SAVE these in your password manager or print them.
- 7Tap Done.
⚠️
Important: Recovery codes are shown ONE TIME ONLY. If you lose your phone and you did not save the codes, support has to manually reset your account.
💡
Tip: If you got a new phone, set up the authenticator on the new phone before you wipe the old one. If that is not possible, see "Lost your authenticator? Using recovery codes."
ℹ️
Note: Each recovery code works only once. When you have only 2 left, the Security page will warn you. Tap Regenerate codes to get a fresh set of 10.
